Troy Aikman’s Inaugural “Highway To Henryetta” Music Festival to Take Place on June 11, 2022

Country Music Superstar Blake Shelton Headlines Celebration to Benefit Educational and Community Initiatives in Pro Football Hall-of-Famer’s Hometown

Henryetta, Oklahoma (October 22, 2021) — Pro Football Hall of Famer and FOX Sports broadcaster Troy Aikman today announced that he has organized and planned the first-ever “Highway to Henryetta” music festival for Saturday, June 11, 2022, in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Headlined by Blake Shelton and other country music royalty, the festival will benefit educational and community initiatives in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Aikman made the announcement today as part of a surprise appearance at his alma mater Henryetta High School, during its weekly pep rally. Aikman quarterbacked Henryetta High, then known as the Hens, from 1981-83.

“Over the years, I’ve had many opportunities to give back to other places I have called home, but now my focus is on my hometown of Henryetta, Oklahoma,” said Aikman. “Like many small towns across America, Henryetta has been hit hard by the pandemic and is struggling with a series of economic setbacks. I am proud of how its people, many of the same folks who lived there when I did, have coped.”

“As a nod to their resilience, ‘Highway to Henryetta’ is a celebration for the town – an event that will raise much-needed funding for the school district and bolster the entire community,” Aikman adds. “Small-town America needs to know it isn’t forgotten, and I think this effort will give my Henryetta High Fighting Hen classmates a chance to strut a little. I’m looking forward to this event very much.”

The first “Highway to Henryetta” day-long music festival will be held in Henryetta’s Nichols Park, with 10,000-15,000 attendees expected. The event is being produced by Tony Fay Public Relations in conjunction with C3 Presents. C3 Presents is the producer behind such iconic festivals as Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits Music Festival.

“I’m thrilled to join my buddy Troy Aikman for the first ‘Highway to Henryetta,’ a great idea that benefits some fantastic people,” said Country Music Superstar Blake Shelton. “I always look forward to playing in my home state of Oklahoma and I’m looking forward to supporting Troy’s hometown in the process. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Other artists to perform at Troy Aikman’s “Highway to Henryetta” will be announced at a later date. Ticket information for the event will be released soon. To sign up to receive event updates please visit HWYtoHenryetta.com.
