Marcus Carr serves as Coordinator of Public Relations and Digital Services. Carr joined TFPR in early 2021, simultaneously completing his master’s degree in Sports Management at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas.
Prior to SMU, Carr earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of North Texas, where he was elected President of UNT’s Broadcast Education Association. An NAHJ (National Association of Hispanic Journalists) member, Carr was also named a “Rising Star” by the Ben Barber Innovation Academy for his work with audio and video.
The world of sports, however, caught Carr’s attention coming out of high school, as he took on marketing and social media roles with Adidas and Under Armour’s basketball brands. Writing and editing stints soon followed, as Carr spent time interning at SportsRadio 1310 The Ticket and analyzing high school basketball tournaments for national scouts.
