A familiar face in the motorsports world and 25-year veteran of sports media relations, Elon Werner oversees a host of clients on speedways across the country, including the Texas Motorplex, Auzment Architectural and John Force Racing. He also oversees national media pitching strategies for all TFPR clients.
In 2014 Werner received the Jim Chapman Award for excellence in motorsports public relations. The Chapman Award is considered by many in the industry as the highest honor in racing public relations. It is named in memory of Chapman, the legendary PR executive and innovator, who worked with Babe Ruth and was named Indy Car racing’s “most influential man” of the 1980s.
Werner most recently oversaw communications at Heritage Auctions, where he oversaw international press on a number of record-breaking listings. He directly coordinated press coverage for nearly $100 million in auction sales and managed a media team that managed 40 auctions categories ranging from fine art to sports and coins.
Werner coordinated public relations and marketing for No. 1 pick Jameis Winston in the lead up to the 2015 NFL Draft and helped launch the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in 2000. He has contributed to marketing and promotional campaigns for Coca-Cola, Chevrolet, Monster Energy, PEAK Antifreeze and the Automobile Club of Southern California.
A graduate of Austin College in Sherman, Texas, with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration, he lives in Mansfield, Texas with his wife Jennifer. The couple has two children, Abby and Nick. His hobbies include movies, reading and grilling.
